The Diving Diseases Research Centre (DDRC) were looking to upgrade their file server and needed advice on a new email solution. They were also looking at a company to provide IT support and a smooth transition when their in-house technician left.
"When our IT technician left DDRC, we decided to try using an outside contractor for our IT support. I have found there to be a number of benefits to this: - The online portal system for requesting assistance is great. It allows the manager to look at all tickets generated and to identify trends or particular problem areas. It serves also as a method of communication between NCI and the company using them. You can see who your job is assigned to and monitor the progress. -The problems are dealt with promptly – probably faster than having someone onsite, especially if you are experiencing multiple problems at once! - The NCI team use an appropriate level of technical language when talking to DDRC staff, based on how much of an understanding of IT they have. Even simple, basic problems are taken seriously. - NCI have assisted us with the sourcing of new IT equipment and are happy to provide quotes on anything you might need.
After only a short time we have got to know the team and have built good working relationships. Working with NCI has definitely been a positive move for DDRC."
