The directors are pleased to announce NCI has been shortlisted in the SME reseller of the year 2008 category by CRN. This event is attended by the 1900 of the best IT companies in the industry so to be shortlisted for an award is an amazing achievement in itself. NCI Achieve Dell Certified Partner status

Dell have enhanced their reseller channel with a top tier Certified Partner Program. NCI are proud to announce they are the first in the UK to have achieved Certified level. "It was hard work but proves a commitment on both sides to provide a service to our customers with great hardware and support" says Andy Trish.

Staff changes

In order to continue to provide the best service available NCI has been on a constant recruitment drive. Additions to the team include Mohamed Imran, Richard Halcrow and Henrique Goncalves all of whom are assigned to the Plymouth office and Trudy Anderson who joined the Penryn office. We are looking for staff for our planned office opening in Newton Abbot.

NCI opens Plymouth office

In order to provide a fast service to customers throughout Devon and Cornwall NCI has opened an office in the Science Park in Plymouth. This expansion is designed to allow for further growth into Devon. Another office is also planned in Newton Abbot.

NCI offers support to Staticburst customers

Staticburst, a Plymouth based Microsoft Gold Partner announced it went into administration transferring its customer base to NCI Technologies for continued service. NCI are pleased to be able to offer its services to the customers throughout Devon and Cornwall. All broadband and email services will continue with little disruption as we transfer the accounts.

It's the time of year for the 2008 Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference, this year attended by 11,000 partners. The Conference is an excellent opportunity for NCI to speak with the Microsoft Executives as well as other partners from all around the world.

Congratulations to NCI bowling team

on coming close to winning. The charity event was held in aid of Cornwall Childrens Hospice with teams from local companies meeting in Falmouth to thrash out who was the best at socialising in the Falmouth bowling alley. Organised by Revive recruitment (who lied about their bowling skills) it was a really good night. The NCI team came second, an amazing achievement with no practice and a few beers.

Andy Trish and Chris Penrose meet Bill Gates

Attending an exclusive event at the Hilton Hotel in London on 30th January Andy and Chris listened to Bill Gates talk about Microsoft's visions for the future and his personal plans with the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation. This is expected to be Bill's last time in the UK in his role as Microsoft's Chairman prior to concentrating on his work for the foundation.

The Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference 2007 is to be held in Denver, Colorado this year on July 10th - 12th with the 2nd Small Business Symposium a pre-event on the 9th July.  Andy Trish has been asked to present to other Small Business partners for the 2nd year running.

This year both Chris Penrose and Andy Trish will be attending, look out for the daily updates during the event on our newspage links.

Andy Trish invited to present at two Microsoft presentation events to be held in Microsoft UK Headquarters in Reading on May 22nd. The events are to assist other Microsoft partners in selling Server Solutions.

The Directors of NCI congratulate our newest members of staff, Neil Crowther, Laura Giles and Zeth Ward on becoming Microsoft Certified Professionals. Our investment in staff is shown throughout the whole company, it is especially pleasing when we can help people get on Microsoft's qualification ladder.

Laura stated that although she had worked in the IT industry for the last 2 years, she would not have been able to pass the exam without the experience she had gained with NCI in the 2 months she has been with us.

Aiming for world domination, we are not quite there yet, we have however just gained our Licensing Solutions competency from Microsoft making us the only Microsoft Gold Partner in the world to have 9 competencies.

From a start up company in Cornwall just 3 years ago to a world leader now, NCI work with  businesses large and small to enhance their knowledge of their own computer networks and raise the level of expertise in the Country.

NCI invited to speak at the Cornwall Labour Market Conference in November.

Cornwall Labour Market Network (comprising Jobcentreplus, Connexions, Colleges, Economic Development Officers, Private Training Organisations, Research Organisations and others interested in Cornwall's labour market) are holding their Annual Conference on Thursday 9th November 2006 with a theme of The Knowledge Economy.

NCI have been asked to give our thoughts on how ICT can impact on the Knowledge Economy of the Cornwall.

Andy Trish attending an exclusive, invitation only Microsoft event at the Williams F1 Conference centre in Oxford.

Meeting with the top Executives from Microsoft UK and other leading partners to discuss the 2007 product offerings, Andy will be primarily focusing on Small Business Server and Live Communications Server, both of these products are set to change the way we live.

I.T. has developed rapidly over the last 20 years and NCI strongly believe the software currently being developed by Microsoft will further speed up the change of our way of living.  Being a part of influencing the development of the software and the marketing of it is a fantastic way of learning the full extent of the capabilities of the software which is great for our customers.

Very few companies in the world gain more than 3 competencies in the Microsoft Partner program, not only is it very hard work to achieve just 1 but it shows the incredible hard work put in by all the staff of NCI and commitment to the program and customers.

In partnership with Applied Business Solutions, NCI are pleased to announce both companies have acquired AC Systems.

Applied Business Solutions will be looking after all Pegasus Opera clients whilst NCI take responsibility for the hardware and networking. All existing support contracts will be honoured.

Both Applied Business Solutions and NCI have employed staff from AC Systems to provide continuity to our customers with the focus being on training to ensure all our personnel reach the desired levels.

NCI are proud to announce they have been selected as a finalist in the Networking Infrastructure Solutions Category. The winner of the awards will be announced on July 12th 2006

Their entry was for the work involved with Cornwall Care.

Chris Penrose attends the worlds first Small Business Server 2003 SMB Nation Summit in Amsterdam.

speaking with Harry Brelsford, author of 12 Small Business server books and Robbie Upcroft from Microsoft UK has helped NCI extend our knowledge of configuring SBS in the SME market place.

Cornwall Care chooses NCI to design, supply, build, support and maintain their IT Infrastructure for all 18 Care homes.

After sifting through quotations from IT companies both local and national, the Directors of Cornwall Care opted to work with NCI.


Reputation, Quality of Service, reliability and the ability of working with a local team you can trust were all factors that lead to the decision.

“We look forward to providing the best service available” says Andy “Our team work closely with all the companies we deal with and are very pleased to have Cornwall Care join our fold”

Cornwall Care have migrated from a distributed network to a centralised system located in their Truro Head Quarters. 18 remote sites will access all data and applications via a Citrix server farm over secure links utilising some of the latest technologies from Cisco Systems.

John Andrew and Chris Penrose head off to Barcelona after being invited by the Gartner Group to attend their Directors only IT Expo and to attend meetings with many potential suppliers and strategic partners.

On their return both John and Chris actively worked on strengthening the relationships gained during the meetings allowing NCI to provide a better service to its customers.

Andy Trish invited to Minneapolis, USA to meet with Steve Balmer CEO of Microsoft and other Executives.

As Cornwall’s first Microsoft Gold Partner, NCI Directors were hosted by Microsoft and attended various meetings with the executives of Microsoft to discuss the needs of businesses in Cornwall.

The trip proved highly successful, benefiting both companies. Further meetings are now planned.
