SECTOR: Food Retail
Company Size: £18,000,000 turnover, 51 shops UK wide, 540 staff.
The Story:
West Cornwall Pasty Company, a leading food retail company with head office based in the South West and 36 shops sited throughout the UK had a problem with a printer. Since starting the company no-one had either looked for, nor been offered a structured IT plan so they had grown PC by PC using their NT4 server for file storage.
They had approached one IT company for a quote on a new server to cope with new financial software and were just about to accept when NCI came to see the problems with their printer.
So impressed were they with the friendly attitude and professional abilities of the engineer that they asked for a second quote from us. Although the hardware quote was more expensive than the first company, the solution was designed to fit the purpose rather than just delivery of a box.
Since then NCI has advised the company on all its IT implementations, with Small Business Server still at the head of their network, the company has grown more rapidly and with the introduction of a structured plan developed by NCI the directors of the company are safe in the knowledge they can continue to run and grow their company with the backing of professional IT experts looking after their network.
Having taken on the contract NCI developed the company structure to have complete access to head office from all current 51 shops, have integrated their 4 servers and supplied and configured PC's and laptops for the shops and roaming managers with secure wireless capability throughout their network.
On a daily basis management of the network is looked after by our engineers remotely, the retail software system is kept at its optimum on our recommended ADSL network and we continue to look at ways to better the ongoing infrastructure giving a fantastic return on investment.
